Why Is Skincare Important?

According to Dr. Mehmet Oz, Proper skin care helps to keep the outermost surface layer of our skin intact.

This layer is responsible for maintaining the skin’s overall hydration and also serves as our primary defense against the environment. Therefore, keeping it healthy is extremely important.

Following the right skin care routine and using the correct skincare products regularly will help preserve this layer of our skin.

The skincare products you use must be chosen carefully to avoid damage.

Using a harsh cleanser, for example, will endup stripping the essential lipids and moisture from our skin and will leave the skin damaged!

There are five basic skin types – normal, oily, dry, combination and sensitive.

Before you start using a skincare product, ensure that the products are specifically designed for your skin type.

Somebody with dry skin, for instance, cannot use our clear proof skincare range because their skin is NOT prone to acne and the product will further strip their skin of oil as it is best for oily skin. Such a person would benefit more from using our botanical effects skin care range.

Also, someone with dry skin cannot avoid using a good moisturizer to help increase their skin’s hydration.

Therefore, the first step towards picking the right skincare product and adapting to a skincare routine would be to determine your skin type.
